Mexico is known for their all-inclusive resorts and El Dorado Casitas is one of the best. Mexico not only has more all-inclusive’s than any other country but they know how to do it well, making it one of the top destinations for an all you can eat and drink experience. Some of the top beach cities to visit in Mexico are Riviera Maya, Cancun, Cabo and the city we haven’t stopped hearing about recently –Tulum.

El Dorado Casitas is located in Riviera Maya and the easiest way to get there from the United States is through Cancun International Airport. Just a short 20 minute drive from the airport, El Dorado Casita’s will set up transfers for you making it a seamless experience as soon as you land.

ABOUT EL DORADO CASITA’S

El Dorado Casitas is a part of the Karisma Resort brand and is one of the best resorts in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The adult-only resort is connected to two other El Dorado properties: El Dorado Royale and Generations Riviera Maya (a family resort).

When I say this place is massive, I mean it’s massive! Stretching over the Riviera Maya beaches, El Dorado Casitas is just one portion of El Dorado, but I would say it’s the best part. A stay at El Dorado Casitas means you’ll get access to 13 restaurants, 18 bars, 14 pools, two spas and multiple excursions to choose form.

You may be asking, what makes El Dorado Casitas different than any other resort? Well, the food is actually really good! Most all-inclusive’s are serving cafeteria style food and It’s just not great, which is why I tend to stay away from all-inclusive’s. Plus, you don’t get to experience a city’s culture when you go to an all-inclusive. However, El Dorado Casitas changed my opinion on the food you can expect at one.

what’s included

What’s included in a stay at El Dorado Casitas? Just about everything besides excursions! Regardless if you stay at El Dorado Casita’s or El Dorado Royale, you’ll get to access to all of the restaurants, pools and bars! Plus, all food and drinks are included in your stay. If you want to splurge a bit more, go for the private concierge and butler service for some top of the line service.

In addition to the drinks and food, you can enjoy their daily fitness activities, mezcal tastings and even yoga on the beach. All casita’s have an outdoor shower and daybed to enjoy an afternoon siesta on. Some casita’s even come with their own private pools or you can even choose to splurge a bit more with a swim-up/private pool casita.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT EL DORADO CASITAS

If you came to Mexico to have a good time, you can expect that and more at El Dorado Casitas. Since it’s an adults-only resort, you can enjoy your time away with other like minded friends and couples. It’s a five star spa resort so you know you’re in good hands. When you book a stay here, you can spend your days soaking up the sun on one of their many daybeds or even choose to book a massage right on the beach.

Excursions include options like snorkeling, diving adventures, touring the mayan ruins or even enjoying a private dinner on the beach. The biggest difference between staying at El Dorado Casita’s and El Dorado Royale is the accommodation type. The Casita’s have access to all twelve pools on the property and Royale has access to five. Additionally, only the casita’s have access to butler or personal concierge service.

WHERE TO EAT & DRINK

Like I mentioned, what really sets El Dorado Casitas apart from other resorts is the food! We didn’t expect it to be so good, but it was! There are so many options at El Dorado ranging from authentic Mexican cuisine to Italian. There were so many options that we didn’t get a chance to try them all, but I listed our favorites below that should definitely be on your must-eat at list while there!

  • D’Italia: Italian food that came highly recommended by everyone. Great food, but not our favorite.
  • Fuentes-Culinary Theater: Fuentes serves international cuisine with a one-of-a-kind experience.
  • KAMPAI: Pacific rim cuisine and absolutely amazing. Our favorite restaurant!
  • Spot: a little bit of everything here and it’s good for breakfast or dinner.
  • La Isla: this was our go-to breakfast!
  • Rincon Mexicano: such great Mexican food. Try to get an outdoor seat here.
  • Santa Fe Grill: American cuisine with a Mexican spirit.
  • Health Bar: grab a smoothie here in the morning for a recharge!
  • Bar Guacamayas: cool place for drinks with swings! they even have live entertainment at night time.

  • Kick: the absolute best lunch is here! The wraps are amazing.
  • Swim up bar La Isla: this will be your go-to bar every day for relaxing by the pool and day drinking.
